Red Light Camera Tickets in Los Angeles County, California
A while ago on 7/25/08, we had noticed this posting on Yelp.com under Talk in Los Angeles, regarding a Red Light Camera Ticket, and decided to see the types of responses Shelley had received. Our staff was amazed to see how many responses Shelley had received! Here’s her original posting regarding her experience with a Red Light Camera Ticket:
So I got flashed for not making a complete stop before turning right at a red light. I know it was for me because I was the only one on the road. Anyway, it's been over a month since it occurred. Shouldn't I have gotten the [red light camera] ticket yet? How long do they generally take to arrive in your mailbox?
Now, while she did receive a lot of attention on her posting (partially listed below), many of the responses include information that is downright wrong, others are well informed, but all had one thing in common. NONE of them used the services of 2fixyourredlightcameraticket.com! If they had, they would have been able to give better advice on how to avoid paying fines, getting points on their California driving record and having their insurance premiums increased.
Here’s a partial listing of the responses Shelly received.

Ugh. One week. I just got one by LAX.
07/25/2008 James Y. says:
usually 45 days.
Shelley W. responds:
I had no idea you could get one for turning right?! Then I read an article in the LA Times...That's their new cash cow.
07/25/2008 KN C. says:
They'll come in a week. Believe me I know. I got flashed and the [red light camera] ticket came less than a week later. On another note, I got a speeding ticket which never did come in the mail until about 2 months later telling me it was overdue. Never got the first notice with the amount in the mail. So I guess it depends. I'm not sure how you would check though.
07/25/2008 Bill H. says:
It should arrive any day now. They definitely want your money. If a malfunction, then you'll not need to pay. If the camera doesn't show up in Court, you win. Sweet!

Do you really gotta wait 45 days to find out?! Or is it just a week? One of my friends lives in LA, El Monte but was in Riverside when she got a red light [camera] ticket. She told me she got the letter to her home in El Monte within a week. But I live in Corona, Riverside County and I don’t know if I ran a red light or not when I was making a left turn. Does the timing on sending the ticket home differ from county to county?
And, here Shelley W. is the one giving advice:
Just relax and wait it out. Some people have gotten their ticket in a week. Some in 45 days. If you haven't received your ticket in 45 days, you're very likely good to go. I never received mine, so it can happen. Good luck!
08/26/2008 Mario C. says:
Some lights are just flashin', whether you're getting a ticket or not. They review them, before giving a ticket, so you may not be getting one, or it may have just been a warning ("be aware") flash. If you do get it, you can look on the back of the ticket to get the website address to see the video evidence. You've actually got to type in the "http" part of the address, though, or it won't go through. (just "www....." won't get you there).

I got one in El Segundo and it took about 45 days. If it comes from AZ, you don't have to pay it. You can ignore it.
12/10/2008 Lynette T. says:
My son also got a ticket in El Segundo and received it in the mail a week later.
Four camera angles-all very clear. You could see him mouthing the word, "Fuuuuuu**!"
Expensive ticket! Anyways, that year he was being pissy about posing for a pic for my holiday newsletter. So I used that picture.

So I'm just wondering where everyone got theirs. I got mine like this: 405 S--Rosecrans East exit--up that little street back to Rosecrans--about to make a right on red immediately after my light turned red and before Rosecrans had a green. It happened two weeks ago yesterday. I read that you have to be notified before the ticket is actually sent within 14 days if you got it and I was never notified. Does that mean I didn't get it? Also, here's the thing. I'm 16 and have had my license since August 29th I believe. Will they take my license for getting a ticket with a provisional license. If not for that, I had a minor in the car with me, but I heard they white-out the faces of the other people so they won't know she was under 25. I may not have gotten it though because when I first saw the flash I got really scared, but realized that I didn't see a "No right on red" sign. So, I went back there to see if there was. There wasn't, but while sitting in the parking lot feeling relieved, I noticed that almost every light change, there were like 4 tickets being given out. This was at about 4:00PM on a Tuesday, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, so maybe there are just too many tickets to go through and I won't receive mine, or someone else said it might have run out of film. Any help would be so great because for two weeks now I have lost tons of sleep over this. I really need to know if I should be expecting this ticket or not.
